Zoe Gillings-Brier is Great Britain’s No 1 Snowboard X athlete and is one of our close friends at AssureLife. We’re so happy to hear that Zoe gave birth to her beautiful baby girl on the 22nd August and we have had the chance to catch up with her to find out how she finds life balancing being a new mum and a world class athlete.
How are you finding having a new little addition to the family?
We love being parents and are enjoying every second of it. I have found a good balance between spending time with my family as they mean the world to me and preparing for the next Olympics.
Are you able to find a balance being a new mum and a pro athlete?
Whilst I was pregnant I kept up with my fitness, but I’ve had to modify my workouts to make them “baby-safe”. I don’t think I could have stopped completely, my fitness and sanity probably would have been at risk. I’ve loved being back in the gym, its great to be able to run around, jump and lift again and I’m now back on the snow too which I really missed. I'm feeling as competitive as ever and looking forward to getting back into competitions.
